The Local Studies Conference returns to Bétera with a fifth edition dedicated to the history and heritage of the municipality

The Youth and Equality Space will host a program of lectures on episodes, spaces and research linked to the past of Bétera on September 18th and 19th.

Bétera will look back to its past on September 18 and 19 with the celebration of the fifth edition of the Local Studies Conference , an initiative aimed at deepening knowledge of the history, archaeology and cultural heritage of the municipality.

The Youth and Equality Space of Bétera will be the setting for the conference, organized by the Association Center for Local Studies of Bétera with the collaboration of the Bétera City Council and the Junta de Montes y Señorío Territorial of Bétera .

For two days, different presentations and activities will allow attendees to get closer to very diverse episodes and elements of local history, from the 1949 flood to the archaeological site of l'Horta Vella, including Bétera 's relationship with King Alfonso XIII or some unique spaces in the municipality.

From the 1949 flood to the site of l'Horta Vella

The fifth edition will once again focus on a multidisciplinary look at the past of Beta. Among the issues that will be addressed is the flood of 1949, an episode of local contemporary history that will form part of the research and exhibition program.

Archaeology will also occupy a prominent place thanks to the site of l'Horta Vella, one of the enclaves of heritage interest in the municipality. The conference will not be limited to the theoretical approach, as the program also includes a visit to the site, offering participants the opportunity to get to know it directly.

In this way, the Local Studies Conferences combine dissemination and research with direct contact with some of the spaces that allow us to reconstruct the past of Bétera .

The program will also allow visitors to discover other lesser-known chapters in the history of the municipality. One of the presentations will address Bétera 's connection with King Alfonso XIII, while another will introduce attendees to the history of the El Salvador chalet.

To these contents will be added a study on the medical topography of the municipality, thus expanding the thematic variety of conferences that seek to study Bétera from different perspectives.

This diversity allows the fifth edition to not only focus on major historical events, but also on buildings, documents, research and aspects of local life that contribute to understanding the evolution of the municipality.

Two days to discover and enhance the heritage of Bétera

The 5th Bétera Local Studies Conference will take place on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September at the Youth and Equality Space.

The initiative constitutes a new opportunity for residents to approach research about their own municipality and discover episodes that are part of the collective memory of the city.

With this fifth edition, Bétera once again has a specific space to research, disseminate and enhance its historical and cultural heritage, bringing the work of local scholars closer to all citizens and contributing to preserving the memory of the municipality for future generations.
