The Aljama Dance School returns to Bétera with groups for children, young people and adults

The Aljama Dance School returns to Bétera with groups for children, young people and adults

Popular culture and traditional dances are once again the protagonists in Bétera with the start of a new course at the Aljama Dance School. The activity will resume classes next Friday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. , in the Penya Building.

The initiative is organized by the Aljama de Bétera in collaboration with the Bétera City Council and is aimed at people of different ages. The school will have children's, youth and adult groups, facilitating that traditional dances continue to be transmitted between generations.

The proposal is open to both people who already have experience and those who want to approach traditional dance for the first time and discover a part of Valencian cultural heritage.

The Aljama begins the new academic year on September 18th

The activity will begin on Friday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m. The Penya Building will once again become the meeting point for the participants of the Dance School.

With the return of the school year after the summer, the Aljama thus recovers its training activity and offers a specific space to dance, learn and enjoy traditional dances.

The division into children's, youth and adult groups allows people from different generations to participate in the activity, adapting learning to the characteristics of each group.

Traditional dances to keep the heritage of Bétera alive

Beyond physical activity and learning to dance, the Dance School carries out an important function of preserving and transmitting popular culture.

Traditional dances constitute a manifestation of intangible heritage that needs the participation of new generations to stay alive. Learning the dances also allows one to get closer to the music, customs and celebrations with which they have been linked throughout time.

In a municipality with a strong presence of traditions in its festive calendar, the activity contributes to strengthening the bond between the participants and a significant part of the culture of Bétera .

An activity open to different generations

One of the highlights of the new season will be the possibility of participation from childhood to adulthood. In this way, the school also becomes an intergenerational meeting place.

The collaboration between Aljama and the Bétera City Council allows for continuity in a proposal that combines training, culture and citizen participation.

The event is set for September 18, at 6:30 p.m., at the Penya de Bétera Building. A new opportunity for all those who want to discover traditional dances or continue perfecting them.

With the return of the Aljama Dance School, Bétera recovers this September a space dedicated to dancing, sharing and, above all, keeping its traditions alive.
