The libraries of Bétera continue to focus this September on bringing reading closer to children through proposals designed especially for children. The program will include two reading sessions in English , which will allow them to combine learning the language with discovering new stories.
The activities will take place at the Bétera Central Library and the Civic Center Library , with a session scheduled in each space. The dates will be on Fridays, September 18 and 25, both at 6:00 p.m.
The proposal seeks to help the youngest children incorporate new reading habits in a different way and, at the same time, have a first contact or reinforce their familiarity with English through stories.
'Handa's Surprise' will open the activities at the Central Library
The first appointment will be on Friday, September 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Central Library of Bétera . On this occasion, attendees will be able to enjoy the reading of 'Handa's Surprise'.
The story will be the protagonist of an afternoon in which reading will become a tool to bring English closer to children in a context different from what they can usually find in classrooms.
The activity also allows for strengthening the bond between children and the library and presenting this municipal space as a place to discover stories, learn and enjoy free time.
'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' will come to the Civic Center
A week later, the program will continue at the Bétera Civic Center Library. The event will be on Friday, September 25, also starting at 6:00 p.m.
On this second day, the chosen book will be 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt', a new opportunity for participants to delve into a story in English and continue to familiarize themselves with the language through reading.
With the two sessions spread across different spaces, the September program seeks to bring this type of activity closer to the families of Bétera and encourage the participation of children.
Reading and English to create new habits from childhood
The initiative combines two elements that are especially important during the early stages of education: the acquisition of reading habits and language learning.
Libraries thus become spaces where books can also be discovered from a playful perspective. The aim is for the youngest to relate reading to a pleasant experience and find in these spaces new adventures and stories to discover.
Bétera will therefore have two children's events during this month of September: 'Handa's Surprise', on the 18th at the Central Library, and 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt', on the 25th at the Civic Center Library.
Two afternoons to experience reading in a different way, practice English and continue to awaken a taste for books among the youngest.
