Paquita la del Pedralbí, Lourdes de Bétera , Xavier de Bétera , Toni Vega and Pep Juste starred in an emotional Cantà before giving way to the traditional Cordà
The August Festivals of Bétera 2026 have once again given one of those nights that remain etched in the memory of the municipality. The traditional Cantà d'Albaes once again turned the streets of Bétera into a stage for Valencian popular music , with verses dedicated to the protagonists of the festivities and an atmosphere full of emotion before the arrival of the gunpowder.
In this news we also share some images of the Cantà d'Albaes, an essential event within the veterans' festivals and one of the cultural events that best represent the heritage and traditions of the municipality.
A Cantà d'Albaes that left Bétera with its mouth open
The night featured the voices of Paquita la del Pedralbí, Lourdes de Bétera , Xavier de Bétera , Toni Vega and Pep Juste, “Mama”, who were responsible for giving life to the verses and melodies of a tradition deeply linked to Valencian popular culture.
The singers were accompanied by the versador Boro de Paterna, a fundamental piece of a Cantà in which improvisation, music and words come together to create a different and especially emotional show.
Throughout the night, verses were dedicated to the 2026 Workers, as well as members of the Municipal Corporation, invited authorities, Coeteres supporters clubs and various neighbors. Words full of affection, recognition and, above all, feeling for a celebration that is part of Bétera 's identity.
Music and verses before the arrival of gunpowder
The Cantà d'Albaes occupies a privileged place within the August Festivals because it represents the most musical and emotional part of celebrations in which different expressions of traditional culture coexist.
During the Cantà, the voices of the singers travel through Bétera while the personalized verses turn each stop into a unique moment. No two Albaes are the same , since a good part of its essence lies precisely in the ability to dedicate the song to the people who star in each edition of the festivities.
The celebration also served as a prelude to another of the great moments in the Betera festive calendar. After the voices and verses, it was the turn of the Cordà, giving way to the gunpowder and one of the most spectacular traditions of the festivities.
A tradition that is part of Bétera 's identity
Year after year, the Cantà d'Albaes demonstrates Bétera 's ability to preserve and transmit cultural manifestations that have been passed down from generation to generation. Valencian singing, traditional music and dedicated verses coexist for a few hours with the festive atmosphere that fills the municipality during the month of August.
The beauty and uniqueness of the event once again thrilled the attendees, who were able to enjoy a night in which tradition was the true protagonist.
