The Punt Violeta continues to be installed in the Alameda Escultor Ramón Inglés until August 21 to inform, raise awareness and offer resources during the August Festivals
The Bétera City Council, through the Department of Women and Equality, keeps active during the August 2026 Festivities the awareness campaign "Don't let the party sour" , an initiative aimed at preventing abuse, sexual assault and the different forms of sexist violence that can occur in public spaces, especially during celebrations and in leisure contexts.
The campaign is once again present on the streets of Bétera coinciding with a few days in which thousands of people participate in the different festive activities. The objective is clear: to promote safe and respectful festivities in which all people can enjoy themselves without suffering from sexist behavior, harassment or aggression.
"Don't let them spoil your party", awareness-raising in the midst of the August Festivals
Under the slogan "Don't let the party spoil you", the Department of Women and Equality has deployed different informational and promotional materials with which it seeks to give visibility to a problem that especially affects women in certain leisure spaces.
The initiative is not only aimed at potential victims, but at the general public. In this way, the campaign aims to raise awareness among both women and men about the need to detect, reject and prevent any behavior that could violate the freedom and security of people.
The celebration of the August Festival thus becomes an opportunity to convey this message to a wide audience and remember that fun and respect must always go hand in hand.
El Punt Violeta, in l'Albereda until August 21
One of the main actions of the campaign is the Violet Point, which has been installed in the Alameda Escultor Ramón Inglés, next to the bar of the fairgrounds.
This space will continue to operate until tomorrow, Friday, August 21, and allows people participating in the festivities to come and find information and different awareness-raising materials.
Its presence at street level makes it easier for the campaign's message to reach directly the spaces where much of the nightlife of the August Festivals is concentrated. With this, the council seeks to contribute to generating a festive environment in which any manifestation of sexist violence is identified and rejected.
An initiative present in Bétera since 2018
The campaign is not a one-off event for this festive season. The project began its journey during the 2018 festive season and, since then, has maintained its presence in the different festive contexts of the municipality.
The continuity of the initiative allows us to strengthen prevention and awareness work year after year, adapting it to leisure spaces and taking advantage of the times of greatest influx of people to spread the message among the population as a whole.
For holidays free from sexist violence
In the midst of August festivities marked by music, tradition and citizen participation, the Department of Women and Equality also recalls the importance of building safe, egalitarian and respectful leisure spaces.
The Punt Violeta and the campaign "Don't let the party sour you" will therefore continue to raise awareness during these last days of celebrations. The aim is for Bétera to be able to enjoy its festivities without abuse, sexual assault or sexist violence , making prevention and respect a shared responsibility.
