The August 2026 Festival looks back on its history with an emotional recognition of two generations that represented Bétera 50 and 25 years ago
The August Festivities of Bétera 2026 experienced one of its most emotional afternoons yesterday. The municipality paid tribute to the residents who were Workers and Mayors in the years 1976 and 2001 , coinciding this year with the 50th and 25th anniversaries , respectively, of their time as representatives of the festivities.
An event full of memories and feelings that allowed different generations to gather around the same tradition. In this news we also share some images of the tribute, a day that served to remind us that the current August Festivals are also the result of the work of all the people who have kept them alive over the decades.
50 years of the Workers and Foremen of 1976
Half a century has passed since the Workers and Mayors of 1976 assumed the responsibility of representing the August Festivals of Bétera . Fifty years later, the municipality has wanted to once again highlight their dedication with a distinction that recognizes their contribution to local festive history.
Being a Worker or Mayoral means much more than holding a position during a festival. It means actively participating in the preservation of traditions that have managed to reach our days thanks to the commitment of generations of veterans.
Therefore, meeting again five decades later made the tribute a particularly significant moment for both the protagonists and their families and for the municipality as a whole.
The Workers and Foremen of 2001 celebrate their 25th anniversary
The afternoon also served to recognize the Workers and Foremen of 2001 , who this year celebrate the 25th anniversary of their group.
A quarter of a century after those August Festivals, their protagonists met again in a very different context, but keeping intact the link with a celebration that is part of their lives.
The event allowed us to share memories and recover experiences from a period that, for anyone who has worked as a Worker or Foreman, occupies a very special place in their memory.
A special memory for those who are no longer here
The tribute also had a particularly emotional component in remembering the people from the 1976 and 2001 groups who are now gone.
Although they could not be present to collect their distinction, Bétera wanted to keep their memory alive and also recognize their contribution to the August Festivals.
Because behind each generation of Workers and Mayors there are people, families, friendships and many hours of work that have allowed the municipality to build the festival that it currently celebrates. Without all of them, the August Festivals would not be what they are today.
The images of a tribute full of emotion
The images that accompany this news report some of the most special moments of the tribute to the Workers and Mayors of 1976 and 2001, from the presentation of the awards to the reunions between its protagonists.
Those who want to see more photographs of the tribute and the rest of the events of the August 2026 Festival can consult the website, social networks and official channels of the Bétera City Council, where more images from these events can be found.
Bétera thus demonstrated that celebrating its festivals also means remembering and thanking the generations that have made them possible. Fifty and twenty-five years later, the Workers and Mayors of 1976 and 2001 continue to be part of that great family that keeps the Bétera Festival alive, year after year.
