Bétera is experiencing intense institutional activity these days that goes far beyond the preparations for the August Festival. Two major developments mark the municipality's current affairs this month: the construction of the first 21 public housing units in more than two decades, and the progress in the transformation of the Horta Vella Business Park. Good news for residents looking for a better future in Camp de Túria.
Bétera will have 21 sheltered housing units for the first time in more than 20 years
The news is one of those that will mark a before and after for many families and young people in the municipality. Bétera has been without a single public housing unit for more than twenty years, and that long hiatus is about to end. The first vice-president of the Generalitat Valenciana and Minister for Housing, Employment, Youth and Equality, Susana Camarero, visited the municipality a few days ago to make the project official.
The Valencian Government will build 21 subsidized housing units in this municipality in the Camp de Túria , a step that has been formalized with the transfer of a municipal plot to the Valencian Housing and Land Entity (EVHA), the body responsible for executing the VIVE Plan, the regional program that aims to build 10,000 affordable homes throughout the Community during this legislature.
The agreement has materialized with the transfer of a municipal plot of 1,254 m² to the EVHA, located in sector R-3, on Vicent Andrés Estellés Street. At the beginning of July, the Plenary of the Bétera City Council agreed to transfer it free of charge to the EVHA, a step that has been formalized by public deed.
The objective of this plan is to increase the supply of subsidized housing, both public and private, through the mobilization of public land. This action is part of the commitments of the Framework Agreement for Collaboration between the Generalitat Valenciana and the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP), to which 321 town halls have already adhered.
Susana Camarero, accompanied by the mayor of Bétera , Elia Verdevío, visited the ceded plot. During the meeting, the vice-president thanked the council for its involvement, highlighting the willingness and agility of the town councils to make land available for the plan. The mayor, Elia Verdevío, thanked the vice-president for her "commitment to Bétera ".
This project represents a key milestone for Bétera , which had not had public housing for more than two decades: a real opportunity for young people and families who want to put down roots in the municipality without giving up affordable housing.
The Horta Vella Business Park, in full transformation
The other big news that crosses the month of August is the modernization of the Horta Vella Business Park. The Bétera City Council will carry out a series of strategic actions during 2025 and 2026 focused on improving the security, energy efficiency, accessibility, urban image and landscape regeneration of the Horta Vella Business Park.
This industrial area of Bétera will be the subject of a major intervention thanks to the granting of a subsidy of 251,702.36 euros by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE), within the framework of aid for investment projects for the improvement, modernization and provision of infrastructure and services in industrial estates, industrial areas and technological enclaves of the Valencian Community.
The overall investment in the project amounts to 301,169.00 euros, of which 186,703.00 euros will be executed this year and 114,466.00 euros in 2026. This investment, co-financed by the City Council, will allow a series of key improvements to be implemented that seek to continue consolidating this area as a modern, accessible and attractive space for the establishment and consolidation of companies.
Among the actions planned for 2026, there are very specific new developments that have already started. The working meeting between AEMON and the City Council allowed for a review of the actions carried out during 2025 and progress in planning new interventions for 2026. During the past year, one of the main actions has been the expansion of the industrial estate's video surveillance system, with the installation of six new cameras financed with the support of IVACE, reaching a total of 20 devices that allow complete coverage of the entire industrial area.
Among the improvements, the Bétera City Council plans to install cameras with license plate readers connected to the DGT, electric vehicle charging points, pedestrian crossings with LED lighting, as well as improvements to the access ramp to the area.
For the Councilor for Industry, María Salavert, these actions "not only respond to a need for modernization, but also address the real needs of this Business Park, transferred from the AEMON business association, which reinforces the dialogue and collaboration of the Bétera City Council with local companies."
Bétera , a municipality that looks to the future
These two major projects —public housing and business modernization— depict a municipality that, in the midst of the August Festival, does not rest on its commitment to improving the quality of life of its residents. The collaboration between the City Council, the Generalitat Valenciana and supramunicipal entities continues to bear tangible fruit: infrastructures for better living and working in Bétera .
From this portal we will continue to inform you of all the progress of these projects and of any news that affects the day-to-day life of the municipality. Stay tuned for all the news about Bétera .
