Bétera will host the exhibition 'Obra en lienzo' next October, a show conceived as a posthumous tribute to the war photojournalist Priego and his vision of a dreamed peace. The artistic proposal will arrive at the Old Town Hall of Bétera , where it can be visited between October 16 and 30.
The inauguration will take place on Friday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. and will serve to open an exhibition that proposes a dialogue between art and memory. Through the expressive power of painting, the show invites visitors to reflect on the experience of war photojournalism and, in contrast to it, on the longing for peace.
After the inauguration, 'Obra en lienzo' can be visited from Monday to Friday, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., until October 30.
A tribute to Priego through art
The proposal that will arrive in Bétera is based on the figure of Priego and his connection with war photojournalism, but shifts the focus to pictorial language.
'Obra en lienzo' is presented as a posthumous tribute in which painting becomes a tool to preserve memory and, at the same time, open a space for reflection.
War and peace appear as elements that dialogue within an exhibition that not only seeks to remember, but also to invite the public to stop in front of the works and approach what they transmit.
A new cultural event in Bétera during the month of October
With the arrival of 'Obra en lienzo', Bétera adds a new proposal to its cultural programming , this time with an exhibition in which art and memory share prominence.
The first opportunity to discover it will be on Friday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m., during the inauguration at the Old Town Hall. Afterwards, it can be visited until October 30, from Monday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
An artistic proposal that invites us to approach painting from memory and to reflect, through the work, on war, memory and the construction of a horizon of peace.
