The August 2026 Festivals of Bétera started this Wednesday, August 12th and the municipality of Camp de Túria woke up ready to experience eleven days that combine tradition, gunpowder, music and the unmistakable aroma of basil . Now that the festival is a reality and that all the preparations have given way to the celebration, we bring you up to date on how the first hours have gone and, above all, on everything that remains to come until the great farewell on Saturday the 22nd.
An official start marked by excitement and excitement
Today, Wednesday the 12th , the August 2026 Festivities officially began . At 5:00 p.m., the parade and gathering of the 2026 Workers took place, accompanied by the Musical Band of Pont-Saint-Martin, a town twinned with Bétera . The presence of the Italian band has put a special note on a day that veterans have been waiting for months.
At 11:00 p.m. the Presentation of the Workers and Mayorals 2026 will arrive at the Alameda and, at 1:00 a.m., the Bétera Musical Artistic Center will perform accompanied by singer Serafín Zubiri. It will be the culmination of a first day that will set the tone for a festival that aspires to be remembered as one of the best editions.
The central days: pilata, dansà and the big night of the 15th
The first days of the festival have a busy and varied schedule. On Thursday the 13th , Valencian pelota will be the star of the show on Vázquez Mella Street, first with a workshop at 5:30 p.m. and then with a big game at 6:30 p.m. The traditional Paella Competition will begin at 8:00 p.m., while the Invictus Orchestra will entertain the night from 11:30 p.m.
On Friday the 14th, there will be a combination of Shooting and Pulling, the Great Popular Dinner and the Dansà, hosted by the l'Aljama Cultural Association. The day will culminate with a discomobile and, at midnight, the traditional Nit d'Albaes.
Saturday, August 15th is, as every year, the moment that generates the most anticipation. Saturday, August 15th will once again be the heart of the Festes de Bétera . At 08:00 the gathering for the collection of the Obreres will begin and, at 10:00, the traditional Rodà de les Alfàbegues will start from the Hort de les Alfàbegues to the Parish of the Puríssima Concepció. The afternoon will continue with the mass and the procession of the Mare de Déu d'Agost.
Where a normal basil is around half a meter, those of Bétera exceed two meters in height and reach between 2.5 and 4 meters in width. These giant vegetables, grown for months in the municipal garden, will be the real protagonists of a procession that fills the streets with confetti, color and aroma.
At 9:30 p.m. the Coet de Luxe will take place and, at midnight, the Ave Maria and the Cantà d'Albaes. And as the night progresses, the most awaited moment for gunpowder lovers will arrive: well into the night, at 1:00 a.m., the spectacular Cordà will take place, a giant firework that attracts the curiosity of thousands of visitors. From 2:00 a.m. a unique phenomenon begins in the Valencian lands: the Coetà or free rocket firing through the streets of the town. A night that Bétera has managed to preserve and that is traditionally spent with friends and family.
The big week: rock, tributes and the Coetà del Gos
The gunpowder will remain the main event during the early hours of Sunday 16th with the Gran Cordà, followed by the Coetà through the streets of Bétera . That same Sunday there will be children's music and a night of tributes to Manolo Escobar and Mocedades.
On Monday 17th, the Coetà Infantil and the Coetà del Gos will arrive, before a Rock Night with Los Inhumanos and Mojinos Escozíos. The Coetà del Gos is an unmissable event for gunpowder lovers: around 30,000 rockets in 40 minutes make this event one of the most impressive pyrotechnic shows on the festive calendar of the Valencian Community.
On Tuesday the 18th , the Albereda will host the traditional Torrent Ball, which this year will include a tribute to the Obreres and Mayorals of 1976 and 2001. An emotional gesture that recognizes decades of dedication and commitment to the veterans' festival.
Wednesday 19th will be the turn of the Great Taconeo Festival, while on Thursday 20th one of the most participatory activities will take place: the Costume Parade, with confetti, floats and xaranga. Afterwards, King África will perform and the night will continue with a DJ.
On Friday the 21st, the Orquestra Màxima will perform. An evening of live music that will set the mood for the day of the big farewell.
The farewell of the 22nd: the Bolletas and the Obreres 2027
Saturday, August 22nd is simultaneously the most emotional and the most anticipated day of the coming year. The Eighth Mass, the making of the bolletes and the procession will precede the farewell of the 2026 Workers and Foremen.
At 11:00 p.m., the Obreres i Mayorals 2027 will be presented, before Demarco Flamenco brings the musical finale to a close. The tradition of the bolletes, those parchments that will reveal the names of the new representatives, will once again generate the anticipation that characterizes the end of the festivities year after year.
A festival with a vocation to be a reference
The Alfabegues Festival in Bétera has been declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest since 2007 and the council is working to raise this recognition to a national level. "We have a great festival, full of history and tradition, a festival that is unique in the world that we want to become a Festival of National Tourist Interest," said Manuel Pérez, councilor for Festes de Bétera .
The reinforcement of the security forces, the incorporation of TETRA transmitters for Civil Protection and the revision of the mobility plan for the days of maximum influx of visitors constitute a device worthy of a festival that brings together thousands of people year after year. Bétera is ready to experience, from August 12 to 22, one of its most complete and anticipated editions. Make the most of every moment.
