Bétera , August 10: two days away from a unique festival and eclipse

Bétera is experiencing this August 10th the last two days before the 2026 Festivities, with the Coetà Infantil, the solar eclipse of the 12th and all the municipal news.

This Monday, August 10, Bétera wakes up with a special energy: exactly two days until the start of the August 2026 Festivals , eleven days of tradition, gunpowder, basil and popular culture that will make the municipality a festive reference for the entire Valencian Community. The agenda is intense, the excitement is noticeable in every street and the council continues to work in parallel on projects that will ensure the future of the town. Review all the news of the day.

Two days until the start of the Holidays: everything is ready

Les Obreres i Majorals 2026 have enthusiastically organized a program full of activities for children and adults that will be held from August 12 to 22, to enjoy the traditions, customs and signs of identity that write the history of the Festivities and the municipality. The preparations have experienced their most intense phase this weekend and everything indicates that the staging on Wednesday will be memorable.

At 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 12th, the Presentation of the Workers and Foremen 2026 will arrive at the Alameda and, at 1:00 a.m., the Bétera Artistic Musical Center will perform accompanied by singer Serafín Zubiri. A party that promises to set the tone for unforgettable days.

On Thursday 13th, Valencian pelota will be the protagonist on Vázquez Mella Street, first with a workshop at 5:30 pm and then with a big game at 6:30 pm. At 8:00 pm the traditional Paella Competition will begin, while the Invictus Orchestra will liven up the night from 11:30 pm. On Friday 14th it will combine the Tir i Arrossegament, the Gran Sopar Popular and the Dansà, hosted by the Associació Cultural l'Aljama.

The Cant d'Estil and traditional dances are fundamental elements of the Festas, where on the 14th the Dansà stands out with its traditional dances, and then comes the Nit d'Albaes where the Cantà and the Ave Maria stand out. On Wednesday the 19th it will be the turn of the Gran Festa Taconeo, while on Thursday the 20th one of the most participatory activities will take place: the Cavalcada de Disfresses, with confetti, floats and xaranga.

The solar eclipse, the protagonist of the opening day

The upcoming 12th of August 2026 will be a date marked on the calendar for astronomy lovers: the Valencian Community will be one of the privileged territories to contemplate one of the most anticipated astronomical phenomena of recent years, a solar eclipse that will attract thousands of people to numerous observation points. Bétera is therefore faced with a unique coincidence: on the same day the sky opens and the Festivities open.

Given the large expected turnout, the Bétera City Council has wanted to remind the public of a series of basic recommendations so that they can enjoy the event with all the safety guarantees. Having approved glasses for solar observation is essential, and the council has insisted on not looking at the Sun directly without adequate protection at any time during the phenomenon.

Security and special equipment for the Holidays

The Bétera City Council has put security at the center of festive preparations . The council will allocate nearly 50,000 euros to protect the municipality during the Alfabegues Festival. An unprecedented effort that includes reinforcements from the Local Police, coordination with Civil Protection and a device designed to manage the large crowds expected for both the Festival and the eclipse.

The Bétera City Council, within the Local Police Modernization and Improvement Plan, has incorporated seven new smart tablets and three clamps for vehicles and motorcycles, acquisitions that represent an investment of 10,000 euros to respond to growing digital demands and provide greater operational capacity at the service of the municipal body.

Local trade and business: the Torre Bofilla Awards 2026

In the context of an August full of activity, it is worth remembering the recognition that the council gave to the local productive fabric at the end of June. Bétera celebrated the fifth edition of the Torre Bofilla Awards with eleven awards, two new categories and the Manuel Aloy Pharmacy as an extraordinary award.

This 2026, the Bétera City Council awarded a total of eleven awards, four of them to companies proposed by the AEMON business association, another four to businesses at the initiative of the Bétera Merchants Association and an extraordinary prize. In addition, this edition has incorporated two new categories to highlight the contribution of women in the commercial and business life of the municipality.

For Mayor Elia Verdevío, these awards highlight the "constant contribution of businesses and companies to the economic and social development of Bétera ." The mayor stressed that the City Council will continue to work side by side with the Bétera Merchants' Association (ACB) and AEMON to promote measures that allow local businesses to grow with guarantees and security in an increasingly competitive market.

Infrastructures: the municipality doesn't stop even on holidays

The large 5.8 million euro water plan to connect the entire municipality to the EMSHI supply network continues on its path, a key project to guarantee access to drinking water in all areas of Bétera in the short and medium term. An investment that directly affects the quality of life of the residents of the housing estates and that is progressing in parallel with the festive preparations.

The new Fire Department complex, with an investment of 4.3 million euros from the Provincial Consortium, is scheduled to begin construction before the end of 2026 on a 6,000 square meter plot of land provided by the City Council, located near the psychiatric hospital complex. The facilities will house forest brigades, the Emergency and Disaster Rescue Unit (UREC) and a training ground for the continuous training of personnel.

The Coetà Infantil, the first official event of the Festivities

This Monday, August 10, the Coetà Infantil marks the symbolic beginning of the big week. The youngest of the town will be the protagonists of a first shot of gunpowder that will warm up the engines for Wednesday. It is one of the most anticipated events for the families of the village and a tradition that, year after year, shows that the passion for the party is inherited from generation to generation.

With everything ready, Bétera faces these final two days of preparation with the certainty that the August 2026 Festival will once again write one of the most beautiful pages in the history of the municipality. From this portal, we will keep you informed of every new event, every event and every emotion. Long live Bétera and long live the Festival!
